Football

Although its first match was played in the recent past on August 15, 1992, the Premier League is one of the most lucrative and most watched leagues in the world. Sponsorships such as Barclays and Carling have allowed for growth and development of the league on a global scale. The number of non-English footballers has increased from 11 to 250 since 1992. There are 20 clubs involved in the league with Manchester United as the most successful team, having won nine titles and never placing below third since 1992. Only four teams have won the Premier League title including Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Arsenal, and Chelsea.
