Scottish Football League Division 1
Football
Founded in 1890, the First Division is the highest level in the Scottish Football League. The original eleven members of the Scottish Football League first division included Abercorn, Cambuslang, Celtic, Cowlairs, Dumbarton, Heart of Midlothian, Rangers, Renton, St. Mirren, Third Lanark, and Vale of Leven. Instead of the automatic promotion and relegation that exists today, there was a voting procedure to decide which clubs should be promoted or demoted in the First Division clubs. Today there are ten members of the Irn-Bru sponsored First Division, including Stirling Albion, Queen of the South, Dunfermline Athletic, Clyde, Dundee, Hamilton, Morton, St Johnstone, Livingston, and Partick Thistle. | Season | Winners | Winning Points Total | Won by (Points) |
